BENSON EGBUCHIWE (ACIS) LL. B (Hons), B.L, LL.M

Benson began his law practice in 2001, working in medium-sized law firms.

Subsequently, he was retained as company secretary and legal adviser to numerous companies, including as a resident legal consultant to the FOLIO GROUP. In that capacity, he orchestrated the acquisition of The Daily Times of Nigeria Plc. and since then has also been providing through our law firm post-acquisition advisory services to the group and to many other corporate groups, especially proffering legal frameworks on the regulatory and statutory compliance issues required of companies for their operations.

 

Benson has extensive experience in legal and regulatory issues. He has been involved in numerous business startups, due diligence reviews, privatisation, mergers, cross-border acquisitions, corporate restructuring, contract structuring, private equity funds, and general business regulatory compliance and advisory services. He has also liaised extensively with numerous government departments and regulatory agencies on behalf of our multiple clients.

 

Benson graduated from the University of Lagos (1998), was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000, and is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Administrators and Secretaries, Nigeria. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He also has an LL.M. in Corporate Governance and Finance Law from Nasarawa State University. He is also a Chartered Secretary and corporate Governance practitioner, as evidenced by his membership in the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria. Benson os presently engaged in a double Ph.D. program with Abuja Leadership Centre in Public Governance and Leadership and Nile University. He is proficient in English and French, with a certificate from the Institute Français Abuja.
