Oludotun Sowemimo began his professional career with Afe Babalola & Co (San) in Abuja as a junior counsel. He also has extensive knowledge of the oil and Gas industry, having served as a legal intern to the company secretary of Petroleum Product & Marketing Company (PPMC) before his employment with AFE. He has advised several oil companies, both local and international, on the industry regulatory and statutory frameworks, as well as providing investment and market intelligence analysis of the oil industry for prospective investors. He has also served as a legal adviser to key South-South leaders on the derivation litigations and represented them in various geopolitical meetings, including being a key legal adviser to the present Ijaw leader and a resident legal consultant to the African Business Roundtable Group.
He is a graduate of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos (1998), where he obtained his LL. B and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003
